The High Commission of Canada is pleased to announce the opening of Visa Application Centre in Dhaka operated by VFS (Bangladesh) Pvt. Ltd.

From 16 March 2006 applications for all Temporary Resident, Student permit, Work permit and Permanent Resident Determination that were previously made at the High Commission should be lodged at the new Canadian Visa Application Centre.

The office will be located at 'Taj Casalina', Apt 3C (2nd floor), House SW (1),

The new centre will operate for longer hours from 0900-1300 and 1400-1700 Sunday-Thursday. The one stop application centre will provide improved client services with the following:

• Fast track submission of completed application forms.
• Pick up of passports after assessment by The Canadian High Commission
• On site purchase facilities of bank draft for processing fee.
• On site client service to assist in reviewing application documents.

The applications will then be forwarded by VFS daily to the High Commission for assessment. An interview, if required, will be scheduled by VFS to be held at the High Commission. A nominal fee of Tk.550/- per passport/application will be charged by VFS as processing charges.

Also from September 14, 2006 the Visa Application Centre will open a service centre in Chittagong and Sylhet to accept applications.

There will be no change in Canadian Immigration rules, and the decision making process for granting visas will remain with the High Commission of Canada. For more information regarding requirements of the immigration program to Canada please see the High Commission web: www.bangladesh.gc.ca
